To improve training in cinematography, ensure that educational programs meet labor market requirements, and update professional standards in the cultural and creative industries, a roundtable discussion on "Professional Standards for Cinematography: Formation through Partnerships between Government, Education, and Industry" was held on October 22, 2025. The event was held in a hybrid format. It was organized by the Educational and Methodological Association (EMA) at the Print Media Technology College (Deputy Chairperson of the EMA, M.N. Sagandykova). The purpose of the event was to discuss approaches to developing a professional standard for cinematography, identify key competencies required of a modern specialist, and develop mechanisms for interaction between employers, educational organizations, and government agencies. The roundtable was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, employers in the film, television, media, and creative industries, representatives of universities and colleges offering cinematography programs, experts in professional standards and education, and representatives of trade unions and creative associations.
